The Suite Life: Marriott Orlando Swan Resort Review

The Suite Life: Marriott Orlando Swan Resort Review

Sometimes life will surprise you.

On our recent trip to Orlando as we were checking into the Swan Resort we got that kind of a surprise. When we visit Disney World, we typically stay at the Dolphin but this time we were happy to be able to get a room at the Swan...and what a room it was!

When we were checking in we were delighted to receive a complimentary upgrade from a two bed room to a suite. But not just any suite...

Dearest gentlereaders, let me introduce you to the Swan Presidential Suite!

To say we were shocked is an understatement. This pictures above are of the parlor area of the suite. Not pictured are the additional bathroom, foyer entry and full kitchen with its own entryway.

On either side of this suite are bedrooms, so while we had an adjoining two queen bed to the far right of this room, another single king could be found on the adjoining right.

To be honest, I thought that this was an error on the hotel's part and at any time the Swan security would be knocking on our (one of three) doors to escort us to lesser accommodations. But that knock never came.

After taking in the nighttime views of Epcot and the Dolphin from our balcony, we decided not to worry about it and just enjoy our new Presidential status for the night.

With the Swan and Dolphin being Marriott properties, Marriott reward points and status definitely were the deciding factors in this particular room upgrade. (More information on the Marriott Bonvoy membership can be found on their page)

  • 2 full bathrooms and closets
  • 1 standard 2 Queen bedroom with balcony
  • 2 televisions (one in bedroom, one in living room)
  • Full living room with couch, armchairs and grand piano
  • Dining room for 6
  • Full kitchen with full-sized refrigerator, cooktop, coffee maker and microwave
  • Sweeping wall of windows in parlor facing the Dolphin

Standard double room

So, if given the chance would we stay in the Swan Presidential Suite again? Uh, IN A HEARTBEAT!

This suite had everything, the only downside was that for this particular trip it was just the two of us and the trip was going to be a relatively short one at just 2 days. The fact that we were also on a midweek trip during a relatively slower period for the parks were also likely contributing factors.

A suite like this would be best for a larger group, and as a central place for entertaining. Had we brought a larger group of adults, or our families this would have been a perfect place for us all to gather and watch tv and focus more on the resort experience than just having a place to rest when not hopping over to the parks.

Having a mostly full kitchen presents the opportunity to cook some of the meals and save on eating out but the real star of this parlor is the second full bathroom. Not having to wait for someone to get out of the shower to use the bathroom is like reaching a level of sophistication that I do not think I can come back from.

So it should come as no surprise that if you ever find yourselves in a presidential position we highly recommend the experience.
