Space 220 opened in Epcot on September 20, 2021 and has been on my list of “must do’s” for years. This restaurant has been ridiculously hard to get a reservation for and I gave up hope on several trips. When we visited WDW last, I casually looked for a dinner reservation and as luck would have it I got it. Space 220 like many restaurants in Disney offers a prefixed, 3 course menu that is $79 per person. You get your choice of Lift offs appetizer, Star Course (Entrée) and Supernova Sweets (Dessert). There are add ons such as Lobster Tails and extra sides like Truffled Herb fingerling Potatoes.
Arriving at Space 220 was exciting, and I enjoyed the elevator ride to space. We were seated next to the windows to space in a booth. I was not a fan of where we were seated because the screens are such a big part of the experience and being right next to them, we were able to see the lights for the screens.

The screens do have fun happenings on them such as astronauts walking a dog, lightsaber battles, and spaceships leaving the station.
For my meal I chose the Blue Moon Cauliflower, Slow Rotation Zero-G Short Rib, and Carrot Cake. Starting with the Cauliflower that is tempura fried and had hot sauce with blue cheese dust.
The cauliflower came out piping hot and was light and crunchy. I enjoyed the “hot” sauce and blue cheese dust, but I would have enjoyed more of each. The flavors worked well together, and I felt this was the best part of my meal.
I give this a 8/10.
The Slow rotation zero-g short rib was a letdown.
The short rib came with cheddar grits, bacon, rainbow carrots, and haricots vert. The short rib was very tender, and I did not need a knife, the grits were creamy, and the veggies tasted fresh. The problem was I didn’t feel like there was any flavor to the dish. I was missing seasoning and although the cheese grits texture was great, I could not taste the cheese at all.
I give this a 5/10.
Dessert was Carrot cake which is the vegan option and my favorite dessert.
I knew by choosing the vegan option the butter and cream that I was used to in regular carrot cake would be missing. The carrot cake had a good taste but was dry. I did enjoy the cream cheese and the candied walnuts, but it was not enough to save the dessert.
I give this a 5/10.
Overall, for me I don’t need to dine at Space 220 again.
Although I enjoyed myself and the service was amazing the price was just too much for me. For 3 adults we paid $279 with a tip, and we could have headed to a better option at one of the
resorts and spent less. I think if you enjoy trying new restaurants and want to give it a try, I say go at lunch and save some money.
