For our recent trip to Disneyland we chose to stay at one of the many hotels outside of Disney property.

Sonesta Anaheim Resort Area is a full-service hotel that shares a parking lot with its sister property Sonesta ES Suites. This hotel is 34 minutes from LAX, on the ART line and offers a commute to Disneyland that takes an average of 10 minutes. This 7 floor hotel boasts 264 guest rooms, over 2,00 sq. ft. of meeting space, and an onsite restaurant that is open for breakfast and dinner.
We planned this trip at the very last minute but found the price to be decent for the area. We booked a 2-night stay in a double room that was facing the fireworks. The price per night was $168 per night before taxes. This room is normally priced $20-40 more than the standard view. In all honesty we should have booked the normal view as we were in the parks for the fireworks and the first night we arrived we missed the fireworks by a few hours.
It doesn't rain in Southern California, my foot.
The room was clean and spacious. The floors are a laminate that are made to look like wood, and I appreciate this. The two queen beds were comfortable but felt a little small. The room had lots of outlets and USB plugs. The room also had a small fridge, microwave, and Keurig. The bathroom was light and had a lot of space. The water pressure was good, and the water heated up quickly.
The beds were firm and comfortable with wonderful reading lights so that I could get in some much reading before bed without bothering my sister. In the morning the lobby was bright and offered complimentary coffee. We were able to grab park maps and use the transit system to get to Disneyland.
Overall this hotel was a nice resting place and a great option for those traveling to Anaheim.
