Hi There, It's Been A While!

Like a lot of folks, 2024 and these few weeks of 2025 have been a wild ride. There has been a lot of uncertanty, emotions and concerns about what our country will become and where we individually will be.

Couple that with planes flipping over and cuts to both quality of airline travel and within the staffing of the government agencies trying to keep us all safe and it's needless to say that visiting the House of Mouse hasn't been high on our list of things to do lately.

But things are finally at a place that we feel that it's time to travel again. Because honestly, we need a break.

Back to the MCO

Just as we started this travel journey, our upcoming trip will be heading back to Disney World. While we are excited for to explore the changes happening with Epic Universe and the new hotels and experiences popping up all over, we decided to stick to what we know for a quick weekend.

And what a weekend for us to go. While Spirit has been our go to airline for travel (you get what you pay for), I personally haven't flown since they have introduced their new pricing structure. This will be a first for me to see if paying just to GO will be worth it or if the other tiers (Comfy and the like) are better values. Whatever it is that we discover, we'll make sure to share out as well.

This trip will also mark us traveling during the K-12 Spring Break period in Michigan...so that's going to be fun. That and the fact that this is really a last minute vacation means the flights are pretty pricey and somewhat limited for the dates that we want.

But as always we have a plan.

If You Fail to Plan You Plan to Fail...or something like that.

Since we know we are going on what could be an incredibly busy period and a short stay, we are focusing on just a few important priorities.

See who and what we want to see

There are a few experiences that we haven't had a chance to have yet like dinner at Hoop De Doo Musical Review, a ride on Tiana's and exploring this year's Flower and Garden Festival that will be taking top priortity. A trip on Soarin' is also high up on our to-do list.

...I'll stop.

Realistic expectations of popular rides

While I have grown to love Guardians, and will always jump at a chance to ride Rise of the Resistance the truth is I can also do without a trip dedicated to them. The same goes for shelling out for Lightning Lane single or multi pass for this trip. Considering the antipated crowds, both will be at the higher end and that's not really how I would like to spend my time.

Also speaking of the potential for large crowds, before our trip we'll be paying attention to the app to see how crowd levels are the days before our trip, checking the weather and keeping an eye out for any other news that may factor into our trip.

And while it might be disappointing to not do what we want, or for the weather to crap on our much needed vacation, we know that anything can happen so we'll be as flexible as we need to be and find our joy where we can. I mean, Dole Whip is pretty close to tasting like pure joy.

So there we have it. We have a plan, we have our dates, we just need to get there and enjoy the time we have.
